You are missing the point...

Who are you voting for this November?  If you say the Democrat, you're a dumb ass.  Conversely, if you say the Republican, you are also a dumb ass.  WAKE UP PEOPLE.  We've been getting screwed over by people gaming the system for some time now.  At least my entire life and I'd imagine probably even longer then that.  So you might not like it when I still say, this time around, it won't matter.

You have the talking heads on TV, Radio, and Blogs rambling both for and against tax cuts at different brackets, for and against Health care, ground zero, for-gainst bail outs... IGNORE IT.  All of it, the noise, the ripples.  These are what they want us to focus on, the ripples.  It's like sitting around arguing about why the tide went out and playing in the empty ocean as if the tsunami isn't going to come in and wipe everything out.

I'm speaking of our debt.  Our crushing, near damning debt.  You can argue about who put it there, where it started.  Look around for who to blame, you'll see and hear a lot of people attempt to do that this November.  The truth is that even now we're being lied to, manipulated about just how bad things are (by both sides).  R's to attempt to get you to vote for them (fortunately that isn't going so well), D's to try and ignore the flames of popular opinion and the polls.

They're both attempting to do what they always do best: try to gain power.  What do they get out of power? A monopoly.  Don't misunderstand this as pure populist or "oh man government sucks".  I am an unapologetic Free thinker with very Libertarian leanings, and more so by the day from what I've seen that I have been born into.  A world where greed, corruption and abuses of power are the norm.  Is this what you signed up for?  To endlessly vote people into office (and much worse, back into office again and again) who go there under the guise of representing us only to let us down?

What we need, and by we, I mean everyone.  Is to start to form examples that can crush the darkness that has become the norm not only in Washington but in all aspects of our lives.  There has been a Normalcy Bias created where we've been brought into the midst of so many problems and we look to others to fix them.  The "Greatest Generation" is called that because they didn't look to others to solve their problems or the problems of others.  They did what they had to do in order to carry the water for the next generation (who apparently has helped piss it away).

Get some skin in the game, get your hands dirty; but not necessarily in the way you might think you have to.  Volunteer, donate, paint, talk, do whatever it is that you're talented in and use it as a force for positive change.  The mantra of "Change" was only half right.  Don't expect Change, "Be the Change".  Be that positive force in your community.  Open a door, send a thank you, pay attention to others and the things that are truly important instead of building up walls.  Live an open life and you have nothing to hide, nothing to feel, nothing to limit.

If you have debt, get out of it.  If you're out of debt, help council others in how to accomplish it.  We've been so divorced from morality for so long that we've stopped knowing how to be good people.  We don't reward the thousands of athletes who are good, loving people; we give media attention and talk about how scandals, murder, rape, and immorality will help or hurt someone's career.

Turn the TV off.  The people you agree with and don't agree with, all of them.  It's not helping you or the rest of the country.  Get your own life in order and be a positive force that can stand up to those that haven't gotten their lives together; politicians or otherwise.  You'll be able to start standing up to corruption in the world and the lives of others after you've stood up to it in your own.  There are millions of positive stories in this world to counter-act the media attention of the hundred negative ones.  Be a positive force for change in your own life and work from there.
